Topic 1: Terminology in Healthcare

Before the lesson

Here is an example of an activity that can be completed independently and online by the learners before class. This activity is a video to learn about some common terminology in healthcare and is followed by some assessment questions.

Currently the video only describes the day of one individual. This would be expanded in the actual video. For the sake of time in preparing this prototype, automated voices were used. These would ideally be the voices of actual people.

This activity uses the ‘look and feel’ style A.


After the lesson

Here is an example of an activity that can be completed independently and online by the learners after class. This activity involves listening to a patient’s story and then putting the nurse’s notes to the proper patient file.

Currently the activity only includes three patients. This would be expanded in the actual activity. For the sake of time in preparing this prototype, automated voices were used. These would ideally be the voices of actual people.

This activity uses the ‘look and feel’ style A.


Topic 2: Hiring and Trends in Engineering

Before the lesson

Here is an example of an activity that can be completed online and independently by the learners before class. This activity is an interactive video to introduce some different types of engineers followed by some assessment questions.

Currently the video only describes 1 type of engineer. This would be expanded in the real video to includes all types of engineers that are to be studied. As it stands, the questions represent material that is not covered in the video because there is only one video. However, in the real activity, all of the content represented in the questions would exist in one or more videos.

For the sake of time in preparing this prototype, an automated voice was used. In a final version, this would be the voice of an actual person.

This activity uses the ‘look and feel’ style B.


After the lesson

Here is an example of an activity that can be completed online and independently after class. This activity is a video to learn about some of the trends in hiring engineers followed by some assessment questions.

Currently the video only describes 2 trends. This would be expanded in the real video to include all trends that are to be discussed. For the sake of time in preparing this prototype, automated voices and animated characters were used. These would ideally be videos of actual people or perhaps animated characters but with real voices.

This activity uses the ‘look and feel’ style B.


Topic 3: Skills in Accounting

Before the lesson

Here is an example of a pre-lesson activity that can be completed online and independently by the learners before class. This activity is a video to learn about some common skills needed by accounting staff followed by a writing assignment.

Currently the video only describes 3 skills. This would be expanded in the video format as well as during the in-class lesson. For the sake of time in preparing this prototype, automated voices were used. In a final version, these would be the voices of actual people.

This activity uses the ‘look and feel’ style C.


After the lesson

Here is an example of an activity that can be completed online and independently after class. This activity is a video to about the skills of individuals in accounting including assessment questions about the individuals in the video.

Currently the activity only describes one individual. In a final version, this would be expanded to include more individuals and more skills. For the sake of time in preparing this prototype, automated voices were used. These would ideally be the voices of actual people.
